Psalm 8 (Our Town)

A
Can you hear it
E/A
in the distance
D
whistle blowing
D/F#
power coming

can you feel it
in your feet now
rhythm of the
hope returning

A E D
Lord won't you stay in our town
Lord let your mercy seep
into our ground

Lord won't you stay in this place
Lord let your grace wash
over this heart of mine

Can you smell it
in the air now
hear the thunder
see the dark clouds

turn your face now
from the desert
here comes refreshing
from the Lord now

Lord won't you stay in our town
Lord let your mercy seep
into our ground

Lord won't you stay in this place
Lord let your grace wash
over this heart of mine

E
We repent
D/F#
we do cry
A
purify us
E
we return
D/F#
to you Lord
A
heal our dry
E
and dusty land

Psalm 7 (Confession of disunity)

Am7 Bm7
Lord help me to see all the ones
who are lost and alone and undone
Lord give me the words you would say
and the selflessness to give them away

Lord I confess where I am
all my flesh, all my pride and my sin
I need you to open my eyes
to the needs in the body of Christ

G
so help me to love
D/F#
help me to find
Em
a change of heart
Cadd9
a change of mind

for I need to know
all that it means
to give my life
for the body of Christ

Lord I know it's not about me
to find this place of your unity
to love the place I'm finding myself
to be the person that you made me to be

and in my own church I find
there are people that I just don't like
people that just don't interest me
messed up screwed up people just like me
